Acacia Ridge School, Uganda gets a borehole!

In June 2017, the people of Kigulu village were blessed with a donation of deep borehole drilled at Acacia Ridge School. The water point is stationed in the school compound but accessed by the community. This is an essential stepping-stone to realizing universal access to clean and safe water for every homestead.

Water

Before it was drilled, the community has a wetland with a spring well, walk long distances to access clean water. Unfortunately, adults and children fetch water from this dirty water source for domestic use. The other option has been a borehole from a near by factory however access is restricted to certain times. They had to wake up as early as 4 am or wait until late in the evening to access it.

The blessing saves the local residents from water crisis, drinking spring water, walking long distances, hardship in accessing clean and safe water and most of all waterborne diseases such as Cholera and Typhoid.
